The fully biological in-situ (at the source) Hydrologix® Grease Reduction System is an economical way to reduce or even eliminate, the need to pump grease interceptors. These are the in-ground collection tanks to hold the FOG (fats, oils and grease) wastewater coming from food establishments and restaurant kitchen drains, and is where the Hydrologix® GRS does its job.
Resorts and large hotels have large capacity grease interceptors like the one shown below:.
· Sleeping microbes & micronutrients are stored in innoculator 1 tank
· Microbes passed to the innoculator 2 “brewing” tank will become fully active/awake in 4 hours – ready to digest FOG
· Active microbes are injected into FOG towers where they cling to biofilm and begin to digest FOG
· Air supply moves FOG through the biofilm, bringing food to microbes & providing them oxygen needed to multiply rapidly
For large capacity grease interceptors of 6000 gallons or more, the control cabinet is typically like the one shown here.
This sophisticated telemetry enables remote monitoring by maintenance staff and even local water authorities if required. For smaller sites, a more compact cabinet typically 48″ x 48” x 48” is all that is needed.
